Mya Mitchell


I have been practicing yoga in some form or another for many years, and for many different reasons. During my explorations I have found that the many practices and methods of Ashtanga yoga provide valuable tools to navigate the complexities and simplicity of everyday life.
I decided to pursue teacher training to further my own learning and to try to provide an opportunity for people to experience yoga as deeply as I have.
I studied Ashtanga and Hatha yoga under the teachings of Baba Hari Das at the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga. I have taught all manner of classes including hot yoga, vinyasa flow, beginner to intermediate classes, kids yoga, pranayama, meditation, as well as restorative type classes and most recently sound healing.
I have been traveling to India the last few years, where I stay at my teacher’s ashram (Sri Ram Ashram), and have also visited many other places within the country seeking knowledge and inspiration.
The main focus for all of my classes is to provide a welcoming, positive and peaceful place for people to come and nourish themselves. It gives me great pleasure and honour to pass on the many gifts of yoga to anyone who wishes to receive them.
